Word Canvas

After seeing so many awesome ideas about putting pictures or words on Canvas I finally decided to put them all to use!  Its to bad I decided to finally get started only a week before Christmas because it was so easy and I could have created a lot more.
I made a pretty simple canvas board for my niece Gracie.  First I had to ask her parents to come up with some words that they think describe her, that way I wouldn't skip out on a super important word they would have wanted on there.  After getting a few words from them I went to Michael's to get Canvas boards.  I ended up getting a pack of 5 since a pack was only 2 dollars more then one single board.  Go figure.  I believe it was 10.99 for the 5 pack of canvas boards. I also bought some scrap booking letters there in different sizes and fonts.  I couldn't find anything super big "God made you Gracie".  Well at least that was under $15.  I also got one yard of a material I wanted to put over the canvas so that the letters wouldn't be just plain white.  Nothing against the plain white letters, they look great!  I just wanted something different.
Supplies
Stretched Canvas Board.  (Mine was 11x16)
Material to cover board (not something you think will soak up paint fast and let it spread)
Can of Black spray paint
Letter stickers
For the big letters I cut them out with scissors after printing them on label paper.

I stapled the material on to the canvas board first, trying to stretch it out so it was tight.  But i probably didn't do the best job possible, so don't worry if you try and its a little crooked or anything, you just don't want wrinkles in it.
Then I started putting on the stickers to form words.  I made sure they were all pretty flat and stuck well.  Some of them had corners lifted a little bit, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference in the end product.
After that we took the board outside into our shed and hung it up with a staple and a hanger.  We sprayed the entire board black making sure it was never so wet that it was dripping or looking like it was globing up.  We waited about 15 minutes and then put on one more coat of spray paint.
We waited over night to let it dry completely.
In the morning it just looked like a black board with shinny black letters on it.  It was actually pretty cool looking.   We started taking the letters off immediately, and it looked amazing!!! Pretty sure we were both totally ecstatic it worked so well and none of the paint spread underneath the letters!
These were in the process of taking all the stickers off!

Sorry I don't have any pictures in the process of making this.  I was in such a hurry I forgot to take photos.  Plus it's my first blog, so I'm not a pro at this yet!
It does look pretty dang awesome tho, doesnt it!?
